The breathlessness of the form works really well for the story.
I’m not a fan of the explicit sentence metaphor at the end. It feels like the narrator is talking down to the audience, making obvious connections for us. Plus, the unexpected meta kind of takes me away from what the character is experiencing. Still, good piece.
