I already said a lot about clowning around in an earlier post. What Lame Deer seems to be talking about, though, is the concept of a meaningful thing—probably a highly structured thing, given the connotations of the word “ceremony”—being produced by a process that is deliberately spontaneous, messy, and absurd.
